Home \ About Us
DeVulgare is a Social Promotion Association (APS) dedicated to promoting the local linguistic heritage. It was founded by Niccolò and Guglielmo, two young men who had emigrated to London, raised in cultural contexts where speaking “dialect” was considered rude, but not knowing it was considered a sin. Determined to take action to safeguard the local linguistic heritage, they created a website that serves as a digital audio library—accessible and open to anyone who wishes to contribute to it.
DeVulgare aims to be a “bottom-up” and collaborative initiative, where anyone who speaks a regional language can share their culture and traditions with us. DeVulgare is an invitation to promote the themes dear to the project, and we therefore welcome any advice or contribution aimed at helping us achieve our goals.
The “team” is made up of dedicated volunteers who share a strong passion for local languages and their promotion. We work flexibly and remotely, each from our respective locations, thereby helping to keep diversity and pluralism alive.
Read our Code of Ethics, our Charter of Values, and our Code of Conduct to learn more about how we work to preserve and promote our linguistic heritage.
